"After all, any real friends of yours will know when your birthday is."
Ummm... No, not really. I know very few of my friends' birthdays, including my closest. Hell, I don't even know Ann or Roger's birthdays, and I didn't know my mom's birthday until I was maybe in junior high.

Dark Knight? KICKS MAJOR ASS.
That's all I can say about it right now. Don't expect me to write a complete review anytime soon. I might be able to get away writing partially coherent comments here and there and I might have short opinions on a thing or two, but full review, I can't do it yet. Not until the fourth or fifth viewing, I suppose. I can tell you, however, of my reaction after watching that movie last night. I sat there, speechless, with tears in my eyes, and feeling an immense amount of respect for Christopher and Jonathan Nolan and the whole crew who's made the film. I cried because my heart hurts for Batman and Bruce Wayne and I cried because I couldn't believe just how perfect and utterly amazing the movie was.
I was completely unprepared for how powerful this movie is. I only watched the trailer once in cinema and one or two times again somewhere else but always the same one. I didn't read any reviews before I watched the movie, so I went in there with no expectations whatsoever. It turns out that the movie not only exceeds my expectations, but blew them to pieces and created something else. I don't know what it is yet but it's good.
I text messaged
brighterlater last night and mentioned that I loved Gary Oldman. OMFG. I'm a fan. All the hype surrounding Heath Ledger and Christian Bale were worth it. Both men were absolutely incredible. But watch out for Aaron Eckhart and Gary Oldman, too. This one is definitely not a one-man show. This is a four-men show. And out of all those four, Gary Oldman won me over. The acting!!! So subtle, so low-key, so un-theatrical... but so, so good. I want to cry thinking about that, too.
Actually, you know what, the ensemble cast is nothing short of fantastic. Even the extras. The people with the small part... they all do the job so well! You'll see when you watch the movie.
Terry's reply to me was: "MAJOR MINDF**K." Which is true. This movie is that. Before I got her SMS, I told my sister (who also watched the movie but at a different time) and told her, "That movie was such a mindfuck. Chris Nolan is evil!" But everything was just brilliant. If you're a lover of a good story, then you would want to see this. You won't be disappointed.
I think everyone I know, including
totoro79 and
nefretiriii, are still reeling from the movie's -to quote Kung Fu Panda- "pure awesomeness". Toto sounded like a lovesick person yesterday when we were junking. She's watching it again today. As I am. Yesterday night while waiting for my sister to come out of the movie, I immediately bought tickets for the 12.15 showtime today (which means I have to leave now). I can't wait for a few more days for my second viewing because I want to understand the story better and ease this... well, longing for Batman and Bruce Wayne and Jim Gordon.
People, wherever you are, get yourselves to the nearest theater and watch this movie. I take back what I said about waiting a while to see Dark Night to avoid the masses who would want to see this movie. None of that matters now. Watch it ASAP. (But don't bring the kids with you.)
OK, I'm leaving now. Christian, Gary, here I come.

well, i think Pikachu is finally fixed. let us hope. He's going in for an oil change Monday.
I have a gyno appointment Tuesday. About time, huh? Weird shit's been happening. And now, I think I have a cyst. It's really weird. I can't have sex. And I'm now getting terribly frustrated. OHHH WELLL. We'll see how shit goes on Tuesday, ne? And because of the frustration I've been on fucking 4chan.org aaaaalll niiiiight looooong. My porn image collection now has a nice dent in it on this here macbook. lawlz. and redtube.com is the best thing ever when you have an internet connection.
I've been talking a lot to that Tyler guy on Facebook. He's the one who initiated Scrabble at Orientation. I'm thinking back to Orientation. It wasn't nearly as bad as how I felt when I got home. I don't know. I think I was just flipping out, finally, about not knowing anything. School's not going to be that bad. I'm going to have fun. I'm so good at molding to fit my surroundings. It's like I can make a home anywhere. But I'm not going to change, and I didn't feel forced to, which was nice.
I need... a tablet. Mine broke a long time ago. I also need a digital camera for school ((it's required)). And I'd like an iPod. Do I has munniez? no. No, I do not. =[
I hate you, munny.

Damn it, my onigiri mold has gone missing. I think it might have been confused for tupperware and gotten thrown out when Ann was clearing out our "plastic container" collection. Just when I picked up a new batch of umeboshi, too. Well, I guess I'll just have to put in the extra time to attempt to mold my onigiri by hand. ^^;
Also, I'm chou nemui. Got to bed at 1 am last night, got up for work at 4:30. Got off of work at about 11:15 (my shift was scheduled to end at 10, but I was allowed to stay later to finish what I was working on), and after dawdling a bit in the computer lab I caught the next bus home, stopped at United Noodle, and got home at 12:45. Did laundry and dishes, and then took a nap which lasted for four hours. Now I'm just trying to clean my room, as it desperately needs it. Already made the beds and put away my laundry. I'm just too tired to have a lot of energy. I also found my good iPod case when I was making Alana's bed. Yay!
Jim's made the August schedule, and I'm only going to be closing five times during the month. Hopefully that doesn't mean my hours have been reduced, but we'll see when I go in tomorrow and check the schedule.
Because of having to work early today, I didn't go to the Wok with everyone yesterday, so I got some dinner (sliced beef congee) at 4:30. Apparently they have a different chef at that time of day, and I must say I like the evening chef's congee better. For one thing, the day chef's congee had no ginger or bamboo shoots, and despite my complaining about the oil in the congee the day chef's congee didn't have that problem, but I actually decided that that adds a bit to the flavor too. So, all in all, the congee was quite bland.
Talked to TCF about getting a more one-way savings account, and I had decided to save up the $500 minimum and open a CD, but after I told Dad about this plan he said it's not smart for someone of my income to put a lot of money into non-liquid savings. I guess I'm back to the square one of attempting to have some self-control. ^^;
And I think that's all I wanted to say. Wish me luck cleaning.
[EDIT: Note to self: Next time you add green onions to soup, wait until you actually pull the soup off the stove to add it, not one minute before. It takes surprisingly little to drain the flavor out of green onions, and it's not like the soup picks it up terribly well either. Also, using a tad less water might be good. For some reason adding so many things to the ramen dulls the flavor of the broth a bit much. Or maybe I just didn't have the water boiling long enough and it didn't evaporate as much as usual?]

Oh hay NEW LAYOUT and NEW USERPICS.
My day was pretty cool. Until my brother came home. He's such a fuckin' ass sometimes. Let's have Maryann do my chores 'cause she has her headphones on and she has no way of knowing that Mom wants me to do it and I can't be bothered to do anything at all even though I'm at home all day. Let's play Halo at fuckin' 3 AM with the volume high. It's not like Maryann has work at all. Let's patronize Maryann for buying comic books and drinks that cost almost close to 5$. D8<
In other news...can we say webcomic high? I think I've read 8 new ones in the past 5 hours. And I caught up with all of them. So Common So Cheap is pretty amazing though I don't get a lot of the stereotypes and the music but the art is great and the characters are lovable. Alternate is insanely HILARIOUS and the characters are so insanely charming and the art is pretty amazing too. I also read some other ones but they weren't as awesome as the ones linked. C:
Lately I've been noticing I've been on a slash kick. It might have started with MLIB but recently, I've been enjoying a lot of things with the slash. Webcomics for the most part are the majority but I watched a French musical called "Les Chansons d'Amour" (Love Songs) because I thought the pretty icon (*points up!*) was pretty gorgeous. (The movie was...good. Just really weird.) All the manga/manhwa/whatever-comics I've been reading and/or downloading or want to download because of their titles turn out to be slashtastic. The majority of them have been pretty good too. :'D
SO AVATAR. I CRACKED UP A LOT. DID NOT WANT THE AANGST THOUGH. BUT YAY CUTE ZUKO/TOPH MOMENT. ALMOST MAKES ME WANT TO ACTUALLY CATCH UP WITH "STORMBENDERS" EXCEPT THE FACT THAT THAT'S ZUTARA AND KATARA = MEH.
I'm going to read or something. C:

A small number of us are planning to see a stage production of "Willy Wonka" at the Navy Pier on Saturday, August 2nd, at 7:00PM. Tickets are $23. Prior to the show, if there is an interest, we can enjoy the Smith Museum of Stained Glass Windows and other attractions at the pier in the afternoon.
I had posted this on
chigothlolibefore, but it was suggested to me by
paillettesto post it here, as well. However, today is the last day to RSVP. I am willing to extend it until 3:00PM tomorrow for any who may not have seen the earlier posts on
chigothloli. Please let me know as soon as possible if you are interested. Thank you.

So Baby Xander is getting stronger as the weeks progress. Now that we're on the verge of week 33 (come Sunday), he's been doing a number on Michelle. We still think he's in the correct position, which means his feet are up near Michelle's ribs. And he kicks. Hard. And he seems to stretch out, pushing on Michelle's insides. While it's cool to watch and see him move around in there, I know how much it hurts her. Trials and tribs of having a kid.
Work is going well. It's FINALLY slowed down from the past two weeks. I've been able to get caught up on a lot of Doctors. However, there has been some drama in the office. Basically no matter what we do that is good, whether it be finishing people before the 80 day mark, or getting someone done in 2 days (seriously), we get a talking to because of the one person we didn't get done or something happened. Seriously, like 68 doctors went to a committee meeting last week (which is why we were so busy), but we get in trouble and talked down to because 1 doctor didn't go. Other than that, work has been good. I get along well with my director, and the other associates. I don't really like the main director of the group, but what can ya do? I'm getting paid good and we save on gas money.
Tomorrow I have my Daddy Boot Camp Class. Runs 10am-1pm at our local hospital. Not sure what happens in it, but it should be an experience...
I started reading Twilight after all the hype and talk that there was surrounding it. I have some serious issues regarding it, which I'll just list beneath this cut (picture involved)

I think that's it for now. I may post later this weekend. We'll see.
